Terry R. Yochum, DC, DACBR, Fellow, ACCR
Whiplash: Trauma to the Head and Neck
Dr. Yochum is currently Director of the Rocky Mountain Chiropractic Radiological Center in Denver, Colorado, and an Adjunct Professor of Radiology at Southern California University of Health Sciences (formerly LACC). Dr. Yochum has presented over 1,200 lectures worldwide. He has had over 260 scientific articles published in both the chiropractic and medical literature. The first edition of Dr. Yochum’s text, “Essentials of Skeletal Radiology”, is a benchmark publication for the profession. It is the required text in radiology at all 50 chiropractic colleges worldwide and is being used in over 100 medical schools around the world. In 1996, Dr. Yochum was bestowed the honor of “Fellow” by the American Chiropractic College of Radiology (ACCR). This has only been given to eight DACBR’s since the inception of the ACCR in 1958. The title of Fellow is the highest honor awarded to any member of the ACCR for distinguished service and contributions in the advancement of chiropractic radiology. Dr. Yochum was also honored with an appointment to the Department of Radiology at the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine as a skeletal radiologist, where he has been on staff since January of 1991and in 2010, Dr. Yochum was honored with induction into the “National Chiropractic College Hall of Honor”.

Dr. Dan Murphy is a recognized and popular instructor who teaches internationally and maintains a part-time clinical practice, while serving as part-time undergraduate faculty at Life Chiropractic College West, where he is currently teaching classes to seniors in the Management of Spinal Disorders. He has taught post-graduate classes for a long list of chiropractic colleges and individual programs. He is a contributing author to several books and a quarterly columnist in the American Journal of Clinical Chiropractic. Dr. Murphy has received the highest awards from various Chiropractic organizations. From 2003 – 2009 Dr. Murphy served as the Vice President of the International Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Jeffrey Spencer was an Olympic cyclist and awarded the ICA’s “Sports Chiropractor of the Year” in 2004. He has worked with PGA, WTA and NASCAR champions, a World Series MVP, rock legends, ultra-successful businesspeople, and NFL, and MLB athletes, as well as Motocross and Formula 1 drivers. Spencer was Lance Armstrong’s personal chiropractor and doctor for the United States Postal Service and Discovery Channel Professional Cycling Teams that won an unprecedented eight Tours de France. He has taught post-graduate sports rehabilitation courses and frequently lectures on cold laser technology. Dr. Spencer’s new book, Turn It Up! How To Perform At Your Highest Level For A Lifetime, is currently available.

This program will highlight 6 key but commonly overlooked strategies for better rehab. Areas of focus include 1) integrated movement; 2) use of targets and goal-oriented movement; 3) motor learning to drive desired sensory alterations; 4) Use of observational learning; 5) using proproceptive guidance for desired movement patterns; and 6) progressive home care.
